Club updates and events / Holiday update
Last post by Monty - Jul 02, 2025, 03:30 PM
Hi all,
The roll off dumpster is full.  Don't put anything else in it because they will not pick it up if it's loaded over the top edge of the container.  Use the two small containers for bagged household garbage. The dumpsters have 24/7 recorded video.

Fireworks are banned by City ordinance with a $500 fine including all of the Camp and the beach out front.  Fireworks are also specifically banned in our Club Bylaws and the fine for possessing them in camp is $25 per firework.  Don't bring any fireworks into Camp, period.
There is a ladies jewelry pop up event from 11-3 on Saturday.  Please stop by and check it out.  Mary Mach is coordinating the event.  Contact her directly for more information.
Parking is going to be at a premium this weekend.  Make sure to either park at your lot or the median on the south side.  If you park in the median, put your lot number on a piece of paper on your dash on the driver's side along with a phone number.  Violators will be stickered and repeat violators will be booted and fined $50 cash on the spot to have the boot removed.   Don't park in the roads or fire lanes.  If you need to park to unload at the beach, please be prompt about getting it done and moving to the median parking areas.  Park at a 90 degree angle to the roads in the median parking area.
Enjoy Independence Day and have fun on the sand,

Hi all,

The pool is now open for the summer except on Mondays for maintenance.

The GLO has issued a swimming advisory for the beach due to high bacterial levels in the Gulf. Swimming is not advised, Testing was done on Wednesday.

The seaweed relocation project starts at 10AM on this Saturday. Volunteers to meet at the middle entrance with gloves, rakes and tarps to move the seaweed to the base of the dunes to enhance our beach. This project has been approved by the City. No mechanized equipment is allowed to be used.

The BOD met in a pre meeting planning session last Saturday for 3 hours. The meeting agenda is being prepared and will be sent out and posted shortly. The General membership meeting for current members only is from 10-11AM on May 24th at the Clubhouse.

The BOD is using a new method of communications to archive conversation topics including member inquiries, suggestions, complaints and any incoming emails from members. This will better allow for us to direct traffic to the appropriate channel for action.

Janet Stewart has been appointed by the BOD as a non voting

director serving as a representative of the general membership on the BOD. This role ensures the that the diverse perspectives and interests of the broader membership are heard and considered in club governance and decision making. She will be assigned to special projects or responsibilities as needed by the BOD to support her mission and activities of the Club.
